Annika & Markus-Aleks
This March, we're publishing the love story of Annika and Markus-Aleks, and a chance meeting at acting camp that became the stage for two students’ happily ever after.
Annika, how did you and your now husband meet?
Annika: Markus and I met at an acting camp, back in 2019. We shared the same activity group but interestingly enough, we didn't speak to one another til the last night of the camp. I did try to make conversation with him at one point during camp but he ignored me!
How did you know he was ‘the one’?
Annika: I've never really had an answer to that question! But I guess it would be the time when I realized he is the kind of person who can make anything happen – for himself, for me, for us. The butterflies (that I still get!) always felt different, more like happy excitement but at the same time, I got the feeling like everything is now okay. All problems don’t seem so big anymore.
How did the proposal planning start?
Annika: Markus started proposal planning by looking for the right ring. At the time we were both still attending college, so he started working out a budget for both the proposal and for the wedding.
The ring was a total surprise! He made an absolutely amazing choice— AnnikaWhat was the most memorable part of the proposal?
Annika: The most memorable part of the proposal was everything we did before. A road trip with his family around north Estonia, us walking around Keila-Fall Castel, the five-course dinner with wine pairing in the castle – it was all perfect. And then of course the moment when he dropped to one knee.
Was the ring a surprise, or did you have input?
Annika: The ring was a total surprise! We had talked before on what kind of rings I like but the one he chose to propose with was all him. And he made an absolutely amazing choice.
