Annastacia & Mikkel
A trip of a lifetime held a magical secret: an engagement ring, chosen at our Copenhagen store as a symbol of their love. Read on to discover how, alone on a beautiful beach, Mikkel got down on one knee and popped the question to his unsuspecting bride-to-be.
How did you two meet?
Annastacia: We actually met at the gym three years ago. We got talking and pretty quickly became inseparable. We both love being outdoors and going on little adventures, so this summer we finally went to Canada. It had been a dream destination for both of us for a long time.
Tell us about the proposal. How did it happen?
Annastacia: One day, Mikkel suggested going for a long walk to a beautiful beach. I have to admit I was feeling a little hangry, so first he had to convince me to get some food in me! I did agree to the walk eventually, without the slightest idea of what he had planned.
When we reached the beach, he proposed. It was a complete surprise, and such a dream come true.
What was your first reaction?
Annastacia: I started crying as soon as I saw the ring. I think my first words were, "Oh my God, it's huge!"
How did you celebrate?
Annastacia: We sat on the beach together for a few hours, just taking it all in. By the time we left it was too late to go out for dinner, so we ordered pizza, got into bed and watched an old Disney film. It was honestly the most perfect day.

The Engagement Ring
Mikkel proposed with our Starlight solitaire in yellow gold, set with an oval diamond. It's a classic design that keeps all the attention on the centre stone, with one little secret: a small star-set diamond hidden underneath it.
