Toi et Moi Jewellery

77 Diamonds is proud to introduce our latest Toi et Moi jewellery collection. A celebration of love, connection, and individuality, this collection revisits an age-old romantic design and reinterprets it for the modern era. We sat down with our Head of Design, Charlotte White, to discuss the inspiration behind this stunning selection.

Why did you decide to create this collection?

Charlotte White: The Toi et Moi design has captivated us for centuries, and its symbolism resonates now more than ever. In a world where personal expression is key, we wanted to offer a collection that speaks to the uniqueness of each couple. Each piece is designed to celebrate the coming together of two distinct elements, and just like with a meaningful relationship — differences enhance rather than diminish the connection.

Toi et Moi is also a timeless design as it’s been the epitome of elegance ever since the Emperor Napoleon gift a Toi et Moi ring to his wife Josephine de Beauharnais. Toi et Moi actually means ‘You and Me’ in French. We absolutely love this symbolising and really wanted to provide this as an option for our customers.

What makes Toi et Moi jewellery so iconic?

Charlotte White: The beauty of Toi et Moi lies in its duality: two stones, side by side, symbolising the intertwining of two souls. Our collection plays with a variety of shapes, sizes, and settings to create contrast and harmony in each piece. Whether it's in an elegant ring, a delicate necklace, or a statement bracelet, the interplay between the two gemstones catches the eye and creates the sparkling finish everyone is looking for.

With this collection, we carefully designed each piece to find the perfect balance of colour, stone shape and size, making two elements contrast and complement each other for a more impactful finish than with a single stone design.

Would a Toi et Moi design be suitable for an engagement ring?

Charlotte White: Absolutely! Toi et Moi rings are one of the most romantic engagement ring styles. They symbolise the deep connection between two individuals, making them an incredibly sentimental choice for a proposal. Many of history’s most famous engagement rings have featured the Toi et Moi style, from Napoleon Bonaparte’s gift to Jackie Kennedy’s stunning diamond and emerald piece. At 77 Diamonds, we offer customisation options so couples can choose the perfect combination of gemstones that reflect their story and relationship through our bespoke service.

Why did you choose to create this collection with lab-grown diamonds?

Charlotte White: We wanted to honour the heritage of the Toi et Moi jewellery design while also looking towards the future. Lab-grown diamonds allow us to create perfectly balanced, complementary pairs with great quality and clarity. They also offer a more price-friendly option without compromising on beauty or brilliance. By choosing lab-grown diamonds, we ensure our customers receive a handcrafted piece without breaking the bank. Of course, for those who prefer natural diamonds or wish to explore other gemstone options, we also offer bespoke services to bring their vision to life.

What’s your personal favourite in this collection?

Charlotte White: I’m especially drawn to the Toi et Moi emerald engagement ring. It’s a beautifully classic pairing: the soft curves of the pear-shaped diamond sit perfectly alongside the clean, geometric lines of the emerald cut. I love the contrast between the two shapes; it’s a subtle nod to how different personalities can balance and strengthen each other in a relationship. My favourite metal pairing for this piece is a simple yellow gold band to keep the focus entirely on the diamonds themselves. To me, this ring really captures the essence of what Toi et Moi stands for.
