A Marquise cut engagement ring is unique diamond cut that in that passed has been referred to as the “Navette” shape, meaning “little boat,” as the shape of the diamond is said to mirror the hull of a small boat. The Marquise cut diamond is vintage shape and design that maximises carat weight and appears larger than other stones of the same weight.

Diamond Facet Structure
Originating in French court in 1745, a Marquise cut diamond will usually have 56 to 58 facets and achieves its optimum appearance with a ratio of between 1.85 and 2.10. The cut optimises carat weight and will elongate the finger when worn.
