One of our most loved engagement ring designs. The addition of diamonds on a thin tapered band gives this ring an elegant finish.
— Charlotte White, Head of Design
Oval diamonds are one of my favourite shapes as they complement any design. One of the all-time classics.
— Anna Byers, Head of Bespoke
An engagement ring set with three stones, trilogies symbolise a shared past, present and future. They are beautiful symbols for a new chapter.

For something so intricate, our approach is very simple: to make your personal story shine through every facet. By customising your ring, adding your favourite stone and having our jewellers perfect every last detail: you are always at the heart of the crafting process with 77.

Select the perfect precious metal to complete your engagement ring design. Each has its own appeal, allowing you to create a truly one-of-a-kind piece. Yellow gold provides the perfect balance of strength and warm colour, while white gold is just as popular for its understated, elegant appearance. The soft glow of romantic rose gold never fails to delight, and for those who appreciate a brilliant white finish that will enhance a diamond's radiance, our white gold selection is an excellent choice, as is platinum for its exceptional durability.
Carat is the term used to determine the weight of the diamond (not to be confused with gold’s Karat, which signifies purity). A carat can be divided into points, where one point is equal to 0.01ct. One carat is equal to 200 milligrams, or 0.2 grams.

As the carat weight increases, so does the size of a diamond. However, it’s important not to equate carat weight with size. This relationship is not linear: a 2-carat diamond will not appear twice as big as a 1-carat diamond. The cut and shape of a stone can also alter the carat weight.
Some diamonds with similar weights can vary significantly in measurements. A deep-set stone, such as the Asscher, can appear smaller than its actual carat size, while oval or cushions may appear larger.

When selecting your diamond, you always have to consider the 4 main factors affecting value and quality, that is: carat weight, colour, clarity and cut.

With every proposal comes a promise. As a returning client with 77, you can enjoy up to 12% off your wedding and eternity purchase.
An engagement ring is entirely personal to the couple whose love it symbolises. For that reason alone, it’s impossible to associate it with one cost. You may have heard that an engagement ring should cost a certain percentage of your salary, but we believe the actual figure should be determined by three important factors:
The right amount is different for everyone. The perfect balance is finding a ring which you can afford and which you know your partner will cherish. There are many options to find the perfect design that fits within your budget. Book an appointment with an expert for one-to-one advice.
Yes, you can. You wear your engagement ring every day, so it’s only natural it will need to be looked after. Cleaning it regularly ensures its radiance remains for years to come.
If you wear your ring every day, our team recommends cleaning your engagement ring approximately every two weeks. If you carry out a lot of household tasks, do activities outdoors, or handle a lot of products day-to-day, you’ll need to clean your ring more often to prevent the build-up of residue.
How to clean your engagement ring:
Avoid using paper towels or harsh chemicals, such as bleach and commercial jewellery cleaners. They can damage your ring. If you purchase an engagement ring from 77 Diamonds, you can visit us for a free ultrasonic cleaning service which we recommend doing twice a year.
Finding your partner’s correct ring size can be tricky, especially if you are planning a surprise proposal. We don’t recommend you try to measure their finger with string, or while they sleep, more often than not, these attempts result in inaccuracies, and risk revealing your big plans.
The safest option is to contact one of our specialists, who can guide you and provide a rough estimate of your partner’s finger size. You also have 30 days after delivery to return your ring for a complimentary resize should it not be exact the first time.
You can visit our ring size guide for further information or download our printable ring sizer online.
Traditionally, engagement rings are worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, also known as the ring finger. This is due to ancient tradition, notably that of the Romans, who used to consider this finger as the ‘Vena Amoris’, the ‘vein of love’, which leads directly to the heart. Usually, a wedding ring is then added and worn first, as it is closest to the wearer; then comes the engagement ring, followed by any other ring, may that be a promise or anniversary ring. This is the traditional way, however, you are free to wear your rings in whichever way feels right for you.
In short: very easy, but we do suggest you try to get size right the first time. You have up to 60 days to return your ring for a free resize from the day you receive your item. Usually, we can only resize up to 2 sizes smaller or larger, depending on the fit and the style of the ring; this is why we suggest you get a close to accurate size when purchasing the first time. This will also mean you get to keep your ring as soon as you receive it, and not have to wait for a resized version, which can take between 4 to 6 weeks.
That being said, if you are unsure of which size to choose, you can consult our helpful sizing guide or speak to a jewellery expert, who will advise on the ideal option for you.
There is no definite answer when it comes to something as personal as an engagement ring. Some like to see a large and scintillating diamond on their finger, others prefer the quiet sparkle of a smaller stone: personal preference is key here. If you are purchasing an engagement ring as a surprise, be sure to familiarise yourself with the taste and style of your significant other: do they like large, statement pieces? Or do they lean towards a more minimalistic style? How important is carat size in their eyes? Would they prefer a design with a smaller centre stone, but one with personal touches such as their birthstone set around the diamond, or maybe a special engraving inside the band? By asking yourself these questions, you will be on the path to creating a piece that fits your story: the size of the diamond will fit right into the beautiful design you choose.
Yes, we do. Our men’s engagement rings are handcrafted and set with a single centre diamond, or multiple diamonds for a subtle touch of brilliance. Select your setting, metal and diamond or gemstone to create a fitting symbol of your love.
Of course! Our specialists are available online and in our showrooms, and will be delighted to help you choose the ideal engagement ring. Traditionally, the wedding ring and engagement ring are worn on the fourth finger of the left hand, with the wedding ring closest to you to emphasise its significance. Some choose to wear an eternity ring on the same finger, on top of the engagement ring. Others wear theirs on the fourth finger of the right hand. As the wearer, what matters is what feels right for you.
We do recommend you select an insurance for your ring for added security, especially if you will be travelling often. However, 77 Diamonds does not offer any insurance plan for your design.
Engagement ring trends come and come, so before you look into anything that is currently popular, remember that an engagement ring is a very personal item, it’s always best to choose a design that you know your partner will like for years to come.
That being said, current trends include finer, more minimalist designs. Look for rings that have a thin band, such as our Delicacy Vintage solitaire. You can also choose diamonds that have a classic, everlasting appeal such as rounds, ovals, and cushions.
Currently, the Toi et Moi ring ring style is on the rise, with many celebrities favouring this iconic French design. At 77 Diamonds, you can discover a selection of Toi et Moi engagement rings that features a variety of diamond shapes and colours.
