Cushion Cut Engagement Rings

In recent years a cushion cut engagement ring has increased dramatically in popularity, as its name suggests it is a soft cornered stoned that looks like a pillow/cushion. Adorned by celebrities as the “It” diamond, the popularity of this beautiful stone explains its demand in the industry. With soft corners the diamond is a beautiful alternative to a round or princess cut diamond without comprising on light reflection and sparkle. It also provides great affordability per carat compared to other diamond cuts.

Cushion Cut Engagement Rings

Why Cushion?

Some cushion cut diamonds have what the industry call a “crushed ice” effect which is where there is a greater refraction of light because of the nature of the facets within the stone where light literally reflects against many small facets that resemble crushed ice. Because of its extra facets, the Cushion cut can disperse more light through the stone which serves to hide inclusions more efficiently, making it one of the most brilliant of all square - and rectangular-shaped stones.
