Necklaces and Pendants with Diamonds
Until recently, the oldest necklace uncovered by archaeologists dated back to the
Stone Age (over 40,000 years old), but in 2004, scientists discovered neck jewellery
from about 75,000 years ago. Origins of the use of Gold appeared in 2500 B.C. with
neck adornments discovered at the Royal Grave of Ur in what is today Iraq. Throughout
different cultures and religions, necklaces have been ascribed all kind of mystical
powers and meanings. A diamond necklace is a fantastic gift for all occasions, a
special gift because a
diamond is known as unbreakable
and lasting forever and therefore the perfect symbol for a gift. There are a lot
of different diamond necklace styles you could choose; from diamond solitaire pendant
necklaces, to bezel set necklaces, claw set or drop diamond necklaces.
A pendant is a piece of jewellery that is attached or hangs from something else
like a necklace or even earrings. Pendants were popular with the kings and queens
of the early Egyptians, Romans and even the Greeks and they used this type of
diamond jewellery to express their individuality.
Pendants are a great way to showcase a diamond, and they can be mixed or matched
with different gold or platinum chains, and the diamond can be claw-set, or bezel-set
(rub-over), depending on one's personal preferences.
