From Brazil to Switzerland, Kevin and Clara’s love grew beyond borders. What began as a chance meeting during Clara’s studies in Italy became a long-distance romance filled with laughter, lots of it, and an unwavering connection.

For spring, they returned to Italy — not just to visit a beautiful villa, but to take a first step toward their ‘forever’.

How did you two meet?

Clara: We met while I was studying art history in Italy. Kevin was living in Switzerland at the time. Even though we were in different countries, we decided to try a long-distance relationship, and it worked. He would visit me once or twice a week. The effort he made always made me feel loved and supported.

What made you feel certain your relationship could go the distance?

Clara: Even though we have different cultures, I’m Brazilian and he’s Swiss, we understand each other perfectly. Our personalities are different too, but somehow we balance each other out. And through all the challenges of distance, we just became closer.

He’s the person who makes me laugh the most, and that’s always been the heart of our relationship. It didn’t take long to realise: this was it.

Tell us about the proposal — how did it happen?

Kevin: Clara had always said she dreamed of getting married in an Italian villa, so I used that as my starting point. I told her we had a tour booked at Villa del Balbianello to see if it could be a wedding venue, but really, I was planning to propose.

I asked her to dress up a little, and brought a tripod with me (which she definitely noticed!)

Clara: The second he started setting up the camera, I just burst out laughing. I couldn’t stop! It was such a mix of nerves and excitement, but that’s exactly us: full of joy, even in the big moments. I’ll never forget it.

Was the ring a surprise?

Clara: I’d hinted at what I liked! We actually went to the 77 showroom in Zurich together, and I tried on a few styles. The Empress Halo with an oval diamond felt perfect… Classic, elegant, and a little regal.

Even though I’d seen the ring, I didn’t know when the proposal would come. It took a few months to be ready, and Kevin really caught me off guard with the timing. It was magical.
