Riverdance creator and movie actress Jean Butler is set to launch her new debut jewellery collection in Dublin this weekend.
The flame-haired Irish dancer was approached by Dublin-based jewellers Emarno to create a line aimed at the Irish-American market. The company, who are launching the collection in the next few weeks, say that it captures Butler’s ‘charm and finesse perfectly, while subtly reminding the wearer of their Irish heritage'. The line includes modern designs of the Irish shamrock in crystal, silver and white gold.
Butler is a household name in Irish-American households, having shot to fame with her famous dance partner and collaborator Michael Flatley when they performed an Irish dance interlude at Eurovision, when it was held in Dublin in 1994. The dancer, who was born to Irish parents in New Jersey, has since appeared in movies, been a fashion muse to couturier Peter O’Brien and holds a honourary role at the University of Limerick.
