Ralph Lauren Bond Street spectacle

Last night Ralph Lauren's Bond Street store saw a visual spectacular, reportedly created by the same people who do the special effects for the Harry Potter films. The eight-minute art installation on the facade of the brand's Bond Street townhouse, featured holographic polo players on horseback and 50ft catwalk models sporting the label’s new collections.

The show, which took place last night, was billed as a 4-D extravaganza, breaking down the theatrical fourth wall with US fashion house's new fragrance misted over the audience. Indeed the spectacle is so intricate that Ralph Lauren's son, David, who has headed up the project, claimed that just 10 seconds of imagery took eight hours work in the studio.

Once Ralph Lauren's guests saw the first performance at 8.30pm, it was repeated continuously between 9pm and 10pm. However, it wasn’t just purely for so-called ‘merchainment’ but the multi-media event fittingly commemorated ten years since the company went online in the USA and celebrates the first day of its UK online venture.
