The Basics
A diamond certificate or grading report authenticates a diamond's attributes. The carat weight, colour and clarity are all validated together with the diamond's exact measurements. Certificates also serve as proof when determining a diamond's value. Diamonds sold through 77Diamonds have been graded by GIA. It is generally accepted by diamond industry professionals that GIA sets the standard when it comes to diamond grading more.

A Word of Caution
There are many diamond grading laboratories around the world. Many produce their own grading reports and have different grading standards. Some may be more lenient with their grading standards than others. Even if you do not purchase a diamond from 77Diamonds, if you do buy a diamond make sure it comes with a certificate from one of the leading and recognised laboratories.
